Institution Decisions September 21- 27, 2015

In Cree, Inc.v.Honeywell International Inc., IPR2015-00914 (PTAB September 24, 2015), the Board instituted inter partes review of claims 28, 33 – 35, 37, 40 – 44, 46, and 49 – 51, of U.S. Patent No. 6,373,188 but not challenged claims 36 and 45 — 87.5% of the challenged claims.

In Sophos Inc. v. Finjan, Inc., IPR2015-01022 (PTAB September 24, 2015) the Board denied inter partes review of claims 1, 10, 14, and 18 of U.S. Patent No. 8,677,494.

He has brought and defended lawsuits in federal and state courts relating to intellectual property and has participated in seizures of counterfeit and infringing goods. Bryan prepares and prosecutes U.S. and foreign patent applications for medical devices, mechanical and electromechanical devices, manufacturing machinery and processes, metal alloys and other materials. He also does a substantial amount of patentability searching, trademark availability searching and patent and trademark infringement studies. In addition to his practice at Harness Dickey, Bryan is an Adjunct Professor at Washington University School of Law and Washington University School of Engineering.
